Using the “Blink Test”
The “Blink Test” is where you put something in front of you, blink, then see what you see first when your eyes open. Usually color and bold writing is seen first, what do you see first on your business card?
Obviously different business cards will show different things. For me, I want my name and company name to be seen first. That is why my business card is red, but my name is in a bold white font.
When I do the blink test, I see my name first, just as I want it. This is important because subconsciously this is what people see first when the look at your business card so make it memorable!

Your Business Card is your Calling Card
In today’s society, everyone is busy. Case in point, I have tried to see my bank manager for the last 2 weeks. Every time I go in, he is gone. I’ve been in 5 times over the last 14 days. Now this manager is a friend and I know what car he drives, and it isn’t in the parking lot, so he isn’t just hiding, he’s that busy!
So every time I stop by, I give a business card to whoever I talk to and say, “Would you mind leaving this on his desk to let him know I stopped by?” Then I write, “Missed you, I’ll stop by later this week” on the back of my business card. This tells him I was here, but not to worry because I’ll be coming back soon.
Not only that, but now he has 5 of my business cards sitting on and around his desk. Now when a customer comes in talking about services I perform, he remember my business because of my business card and can give a recommendation easily!

No Pressure Business Card Marketing Approach
If you love handing out your business cards, but have a pretty low response rate, try this easy tip:
Hand 3-4 business cards and say the following, “Here are a few of my cards incase you or someone you know is interested.”
What this does is tells your prospect that you’re not pressuring them, but you’re also telling them about your business. Whether or not they’re interested, or going to buy from you, they might know someone who is.
Just by handing out a few business cards, you’ve just secured a few client!

Business Cards as Appointment Cards
My dentist gives me an appointment card every time I leave the office. On the appointment card is their name and address, and the date and time of my next appointment.
Their cards are completely blank on the back, and I think this is where they are missing out. I know dentists, in many areas, spend thousands of dollars trying to get new patients (customers), but they don’t do the small things that can lead to huge results.
How about putting something like this on the back of their business appointment cards, “Earn a $50 gift certificate to Restaurant for everyone you refer to us!” or “$100 off any non-insurance covered procedure for every referral!” Non-insurance covered procedures could be braces, teeth whitening, or other elective procedures.
Just that small change could results in 5-10 leads per month, every month!
