Find Free Postcards
Are postcards free like business cards? Usually not. However, if you know this little secret, you might be able to find free postcards.
One day I contacted a company that printed promotional pens. This company also printed other promotional items, but at the time I didn’t know that. This company also printed postcards.
When my order of promotional pens arrived, in the box were a few sample postcards for other companies they had done. The next day I called to inquire about pricing of the postcards. They told me the price, and I thought it was reasonable.
I emailed the lady later in the day with my image I wanted on the postcards and asked her if she could print me some sample cards, send them out and I would review them, make changes, and place my order.
5 days later I received 100 postcards!
You can’t beat free!

Business Card Networking
Networking with your business cards is as simple as handing out your business cards and getting business cards in return. However, this simple concept has lead to many deals, contracts, and sales.
Business card networking has been around since the time business cards were first created.
Whenever you run into someone, that is a chance to network with that person. It doesn’t have to be at a convention or in a sales presentation. Networking can happen anywhere at anytime.
Here is one example. I was in an airport, standing in line talking on the phone. I was trying to sell a website to a client who had never bought from me. A guy a few places in line behind me heard my conversation. In the conversation I agreed to edit the existing template to make it look the way the customer wanted.
The guy in line behind me said, “You do websites?”. I turned and said, “Yes, do you want one for your company?” He said, “We just met with a company last week, but they don’t seem like they can do what we want.” He told me their plans for a ecommerce site, and I told him about the free software called OS Commerce.
I told him installation was fairly straightforward, but customization and importing his existing database could be problems unless they had someone experienced with installing MySQL databases and editing PHP.
He then asked for a demonstration. I pulled out my computer and showed him an example site I designed (site is currently just used for testing). He said he wanted me to design their new website, we talked about what all he wanted, talked about price, and talked about when it could be finished.
By the time my plane arrived we were already talking about hitting the golf course next time I was in town.
That is business networking!

Business Cards and Appointment Cards
My dentist office, Lester K. Lowe Dental Offices, always remembers to give me a card that says when my next appointment will be. This card just has the name of the dentist office and a couple lines for dates and times.
Dentists offices and doctors offices, and any other company that sets appointments in person (maybe tax preparers or lawyers), can benefit from this business card idea:
Instead of just putting your appointment times on your business card and leaving the back of the business card blank, put your real business card on one side, and the appointment schedule on the other.
This will cost you more, but the results will be well worth it. Double sided business card printing always costs more, but in the end always works out well. If you know of any other companies that this might work for, send some feedback!

Free Business Card Shipping Times
One day I was wondering which free business card offer would arrive quickest to my house. So the same day, at the same time I ordered free business cards from VistaPrint and DCP-Print. Both had pretty easy order forms, VistaPrint being slightly easier, although they tried to upsell more products.
I received an email from VistaPrint immediately saying the received my order and when they expected it to arrive. DCP-Print sent an email the next afternoon. I assume DCP-Print doesn’t send an automated email about when my free business cards should ship.
8 days later I received my VistaPrint order. A total of 8 business days from order to me receiving them in the mail. A total of 15 business days is what it took for DCP-Print to send me the free business cards.
If you need your free business cards in any kind or hurry, order them from VistaPrint.
